      <title>Balochistan Assembly approves Rs896.47bn demands for grants</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday approved 94 demands for grants amounting to over Rs896.47 billion for the fiscal year 2025-26, rejecting all cut motions submitted by the opposition parties.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The session was chaired by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, during which Provincial Finance Minister Shoaib Nosherwani presented the budgetary demands.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to the finance minister, Rs606.83 billion have been allocated for non-development expenditures, while Rs279.66 billion have been earmarked for development projects.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Out of the total 94 demands for grants, 53 pertain to non-development and 41 to development spending.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Treasury lawmakers hailed the budget as one aimed at the province’s development and public welfare.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, opposition members criticised the budget and proposed cut motions, all of which were defeated by a majority vote.&lt;/p&gt;
