Nepra postpones hearing on K-Electric’s request to slash tariff by Rs4.69 per unit

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Monday postponed a scheduled public hearing on K-Electric’s request to reduce April’s electricity tariff by Rs4.69 per unit under the monthly fuel cost adjustment mechanism.

The delay came after Power Division officials requested a postponement at the very start of the hearing.

Nepra accepted the request and decided to reschedule the hearing for one week later.

If granted, this reduction could result in a total relief of Rs7.17 billion for K-E consumers.

Additionally, Nepra announced that it will publish the federal government’s letter related to the tariff adjustment on its website to allow for public input, in line with transparency requirements.

The regulator also agreed to reissue public notices (advertisements) to ensure broader participation and awareness regarding the revised hearing date.
