Field Marshal reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, counterterrorism

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has emphasized Pakistan’s firm stance on promoting regional peace, stability, and counterterrorism efforts.

In the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, Field Marshall “highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace and stability, and its constructive role in fostering a rules-based international order.”

During his official visit to the United States, Field Marshal Asim Munir met with leading American think tanks, analysts, policy experts, and representatives from international media in Washington, D.C.

“The Field Marshal eluded to the details and analysis of the Maarka e Haq, Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and elaborated on Pakistan’s perspective on terrorism, noting the malign influence of certain regional actors in sponsoring and perpetuating terrorism as a tool of hybrid warfare,” it said.

“The COAS emphasized that Pakistan has been on the front lines of the global war against terrorism, having rendered immense sacrifices—both human and economic—in pursuit of a safer and more secure world.”

During his engagements, Field Marshal spoke about Pakistan’s significant untapped potential, especially in the fields of information technology, agriculture, and the country’s largely unexploited mining and mineral resources.

He encouraged international stakeholders to consider collaborative ventures in these sectors, emphasizing the mutual benefits such partnerships could bring.

He also elaborated on Pakistan’s balanced and principled stance on regional and global conflicts, stressing the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law.

Also, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive and proactive role in reducing regional tensions and advancing cooperative security arrangements.

In addition, he reflected on the longstanding Pakistan–U.S. relationship, highlighting historical points of convergence, particularly in counter-terrorism, regional stability, and economic cooperation.

Field Marshal noted the potential for a more expansive and multidimensional partnership based on mutual respect, common strategic interests, and economic interdependence.
