KP increases BRT fares

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Urban Mobility Authority (KPUMA) has announced an increase in the fares of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, effective from July 1, 2025.

According to an official notification issued on Monday, fares for all stages of the BRT service will see a Rs10 hike.

The minimum fare has been raised from Rs20 to Rs30, while the fare for Express Routes, a faster, premium service, has increased from Rs60 to Rs70.

Officials said the fare increase was inevitable because of rising fuel costs and essential to ensure consistent, high-quality public transport services.

KPUMA assured that despite the fare adjustment, efforts would continue to ensure reliable and efficient transit for all passengers.
