      <title>Met office warns of intense heat during Eid</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;As heatwave continues to sweep across Pakistan’s plains,  the Met Office warning of persistently high temperatures during Eid ul-Adha, falling between June 7 and June 9.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, a fresh spell of rainfall is expected to begin in the country’s northern and western regions starting today.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to the Met Office, moisture-laden winds are entering northeastern Pakistan, while a new westerly system is making its way into the upper parts of the country. This weather pattern is expected to affect northern areas until June 5.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Rain is forecast in multiple regions including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Gujrat.
In contrast, the southern and central plains are battling intense heat.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;On Monday, Sibi recorded the highest temperature at 48 degree Celsius, followed by Jacobabad at 47 degree Celsius, Dadu at 46 degree Celsius, and Moenjodaro and Turbat at 45 degree Celsius.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Faisalabad and Lahore reached 40 degree Celsius, while Karachi and Islamabad registered 37 degree Celsius. Quetta remained relatively cooler at 34 degree Celsius.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With extreme heat expected to persist during Eid holidays, authorities have advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel, limit sun exposure, and stay hydrated.&lt;/p&gt;
