The victim’s family has accused customs officials of pursuing their vehicle and firing directly at him. Currently, they are protesting against the customs officials at Jinnah Bridge.

According to family members, the incident unfolded when customs officials signaled for the vehicle to stop on Sunday night.

When it failed to do so, the officials allegedly opened fire, fatally wounding the young man in the head. Hospital sources have confirmed the gunshot wound.

The family also claims that customs officials seized the deceased’s vehicle, while the driver remained unharmed during the incident.

Police authorities stated that customs officials were attempting to stop a vehicle loaded with powdered milk. When it did not comply, they opened fire, resulting in the death of 28-year-old Ahsan. A thorough investigation into the incident is currently underway.

According to police statements, they seized the driver’s vehicle from the hospital, prompting strong resistance from the victim’s family. This confrontation escalated tensions, during which a police officer was reportedly assaulted by family members.

Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjhar has responded to the incident by seeking an immediate report from the SSP South.

Lanjhar emphasized that no one is permitted to take the law into their own hands and called for a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
