During his trip, Araghchi is expected to hold a key meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

The visit comes shortly after Araghchi concluded a diplomatic mission to Pakistan earlier this week, during which Iran offered to mediate between Islamabad and New Delhi in an effort to de-escalate rising tensions.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has also expressed concern over the ongoing strain between the two South Asian neighbors.

In a recent statement, Trump offered to assist in peace efforts and urged both countries to exercise restraint to avoid further deterioration of the situation.
