As stated by the U.S. Department of State, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has engaged in discussions with the national security advisors of both countries, urging them to “keep lines of communication open and avoid escalation.”

In the aftermath of escalating hostilities between India and Pakistan, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called for restraint and emphasized the urgency of a peaceful resolution.

“I am monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan closely,” Rubio stated on social media platform X. “I echo @POTUS’s comments earlier today that this hopefully ends quickly and will continue to engage both Indian and Pakistani leadership towards a peaceful resolution.”

Rubio’s remarks follow a series of missile strikes by India against Pakistan. In retaliation, Pakistan reported the downing of multiple Indian aircraft and has declared a state of emergency in Punjab province.

Rubio has been actively engaging with both nations’ leadership to mitigate further escalation.

Earlier, Trump reacted to the events saying the attacks between India and Pakistan were shameful.
