The Met Office said on Saturday that a rain-bearing weather system is expected to enter Sindh from May 5, gaining strength through moisture coming in from the Arabian Sea. As a result, Karachi may experience rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning by the evening.

The rainfall is predicted to continue for one to two days. Meteorologists say this system will have a significant impact across Sindh, with Karachi among the cities likely to receive showers.

The development comes as summer intensifies in southern Pakistan, making the prospect of rain a welcome change for citizens battling heat and humidity.
