&lt;p&gt;His funeral prayer was held on Saturday night in his hometown, Sialkot.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He died at his residence in Sialkot, where he had been unwell for the past month. Sources say he recently underwent spinal surgery and had a heart stent placed a decade ago.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;He was elected to the Senate of Pakistan five times, where he was known for his balanced views, honesty, and religious dignity.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;He had two sons, a daughter, and his wife.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A close associate of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he was also highly respected in academic and intellectual circles.&lt;/li&gt;
