The lawyers protested against the police for not filing a case against the local police station’s Station House Officer (SHO), even after a court order.

The lawyers said that police officers had beaten a law student, but no FIR (First Information Report) was registered against them.

They accused the police of ignoring court orders, however, the Karachi Bar Association said police officers would not be allowed to enter courts in Sindh until action is taken.

General Secretary Karachi Bar Association, Rehman Korai, said the police broke the law.

He demanded that the IG of Sindh form a high-level committee to investigate and punish those responsible.

The protest caused a major traffic jam around Defence Mor as many people going to offices, hospitals, and the airport faced problems.

After the protest ended, police and city officials cleared the area, and life returned to normal.

The lawyers cautioned that if justice is not served, they could expand their protests throughout Sindh.

Police, on the other hand, said that lawyers had damaged property during the protest at the Defence Police Station.

The Superintendent of Police (SSP) South said lawyers brought a court order to register a case, but the police have not yet received an official order from the court.

He added that a case had already been filed earlier against some lawyers after a previous fight at the station.
