Sources say that urgent legal and constitutional discussions are taking place after India’s move, and initial preparations have been completed.

The Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Water Resources, and Law have finished their preliminary work.

All above ministries has been decided that within the next few days, India will be officially informed through diplomatic channels.

The notice will ask India to provide solid reasons for unilaterally suspending the treaty. There are also plans to raise a strong protest at international forums to bring attention to India’s water aggression.

According to the Indus Commission, Pakistan has a legal advantage in this matter. They hope that India will soon reconsider its decision.

Moreover, the Indus Commission stated that all actions will be taken with the approval of the government and the cabinet.

India blamed Pakistan for the April 22 attack that killed 26. Pakistan denies responsibility and called for a neutral probe.

After the attack, India suspended the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty that regulates water-sharing from the Indus River and its tributaries, and Pakistan closed airspace to Indian airlines.
