In a Facebook post, he stated that “there is also a call for cooperation with China to achieve the wild idea.”

“If India attacks Pakistan, Bangladesh will have to occupy seven states of northeast India. In this regard, I feel it is necessary to start discussions on joint military arrangement with China,” Rahman wrote in Bengali on Facebook.

Rahman’s comments come as New Delhi and Dhaka work to improve their strained relationship.

Tensions between the two countries worsened after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sought asylum in India, and concerns grew in New Delhi over alleged attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
