This decision followed a formal request from the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad, which had asked on April 28 for the release of Afghan trucks that were stuck at various transit points in Pakistan due to a halt in transit trade.

The Foreign Office clarified that only those Afghan trucks that entered Pakistan before April 25 have been allowed to proceed to India.

A list of these 150 trucks has been shared with the relevant authorities to ensure a smooth cross-border process.

“This move reflects the close and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan,” the Foreign Ministry stated in a letter to the Afghan Embassy.

The trucks had been delayed for several days at different checkpoints because of restrictions on Afghan-India transit trade.

The Foreign Office also requested that Afghan authorities provide information about any other stranded trucks needing clearance, indicating that further review could be possible.
