Speaking informally with journalists, Naseer confirmed that all paperwork for the establishment of “Pakistan Super League Private Limited” has been completed.

A formal announcement is expected once the ongoing PSL Season 10, which kicked off on April 11, 2025, concludes.

The move comes after years of discussion, with the PCB’s governing board initially approving the PSL’s separation back in November 2016, during the tenure of then-PSL chairman Najam Sethi.

The plan envisioned the PSL operating independently under its own governing body, free from PCB control.

However, the initiative faced significant delays due to legal complexities, opposition from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and concerns about PCB officials’ roles within a private organization.

Franchise owners, who have long demanded transparency around the league’s financial framework, have reacted with cautious optimism.
