In an interview with Indian Express, he stated that audiences have not seen the Dayaben character for five years.

“We will definitely bring back the character of Daya Bhabhi. People say they haven’t enjoyed the show since Daya Bhabhi’s departure. I completely agree,” he said.

“Our entire team is trying to bring back the character of Daya Bhabhi to the show soon.” he said.

“The show’s team had been consistently trying to bring Disha Vakani back, but their efforts ultimately didn’t succeed. However, it looks like the long wait for fans might soon be over.”

Modi revealed that the team also feels Dayaben’s absence in the storyline and has now finalized a few potential actresses for the role.

He hinted that viewers could be introduced to the new Dayaben sooner than expected.

He further shared that replacing Vakani is no easy task, especially given the way she treated her co-stars and crew. “We’ve shortlisted a few candidates for the character, and audiences will get to see them soon.”

“We aim to find someone who brings that same spirit to the role,” Modi added.
