For FY 2024-25, the government had earmarked Rs2,122 billion for defence, a 14.16% rise compared to Rs1,858.80 billion allocated in the previous fiscal year, 2023-24. The substantial year-on-year increases reflect the state’s ongoing commitment to bolstering its military capabilities.

During the current fiscal year, the defence budget saw an addition of Rs263.20 billion over the previous allocation. This upward trend is expected to continue as authorities prepare for another significant increase in the upcoming budget cycle.

According to sources, the planned boost in defence spending is part of a broader strategy to address national security concerns and regional challenges. The consistent rise in allocations highlights the priority given to defence in Pakistan’s fiscal planning.
