During a press conference for the film, he recounted how his father shared stories about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, a pivotal event in Indian history.

He emphasized the personal significance of the film, stating, “My grandfather witnessed the entire Jallianwala Bagh incident, and it has always been etched in my mind.”

“History often fails to reveal what we truly need to know.”

In the movie, Kumar Akshay C Sankaran Nair, the lawyer who challenged General Dyer and the British Raj following the tragic 1919 Jallianwala Bagh incident.

Regarding the British government’s response, Akshay noted, “I’m not here with a begging bowl asking for an apology. I want them to watch this movie and recognise the mistake.”

“An apology will naturally follow, but they need to see what happened.”
