The militant, identified as Hafeezullah alias “Kochwan,” was fatally shot during a targeted operation on the main highway in the Sado area, a suburb of Timergara.

According to police sources, Hafeezullah was riding a motorcycle with another individual when law enforcement personnel signaled them to stop. Upon refusal, security forces opened fire, resulting in his death.

Security officials confirmed that Hafeezullah’s body has been identified, while efforts are underway to determine the identity of his companion.

About Hafeezullah

Hafeezullah was a computer science graduate and considered a high-value target.

He was reportedly responsible for orchestrating multiple attacks in the border regions of Lower Dir and Chitral from 2009 to 2014.

Among his most notorious acts was the planning of a 2010 suicide bombing that killed three US soldiers assigned to a counter-terrorism training mission with the Frontier Corps.

The soldiers were targeted while en route to a girls’ school inauguration in the Malakand Division following a military operation.

At the time, banned TTP spokesperson Azam Tariq had claimed the attack was in retaliation against alleged Blackwater contractors operating in the region.
