PTI leaders at odds over KP’s Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill

Disagreements within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party leaders have come to the forefront regarding the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to sources, KP Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Provincial Minister Atif Khan’s groups have clashed on WhatsApp.

Khan, along with Ex-KP minister Shakeel Khan and several other ministers, has openly opposed the amendment bill.

He stated that the Bill “is not in the best interest of the people of KP.”

On the other hand, Gandapur, in a sarcastic manner, remarked within the party group, “There is no issue with the bill; the issue is personal.”

However, sources suggest that Khan did not respond to Gandapur’s statement.

The PTI’s Information Secretary in KP, Adeel Iqbal, told Aaj News that Gandapur will call a parliamentary committee meeting regarding the bill.

Iqbal further mentioned that the Director General of Mines and Minerals will provide a detailed briefing on the bill to all provincial assembly members.

He added that such debates within the party are a normal part of the process and that these are not differences but a healthy exchange of views.
