During a press conference in Karachi, he expressed optimism about negotiating this reduction with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his upcoming visit to Karachi.

Sattar shared that the K-IV water supply project is expected to be completed between July and December next year.

He revealed that the project’s cost has reached nearly Rs200 billion, with 50% of the work already completed and Rs35 billion allocated for the remaining phases.

However, the Prime Minister will announce the project’s details at a large public gathering.

Sattar praised the Prime Minister’s recent announcement of electricity price reductions as a significant move for the country’s development.

He emphasized the MQM’s crucial role in achieving these results and described the price cut as a major relief for the public.

Sattar extended his gratitude to Prime Minister, noting that this is the first relief measure from the government.

He reported a record decrease in inflation for March and suggested that if the State Bank observes a continued decline, interest rates could also be lowered.

Moreover, Sattar highlighted the MQM’s commitment to addressing the electricity and water crises in Karachi, expressing satisfaction with the progress made on these issues.

Sattar concluded by reiterating his hope for further reductions in electricity prices and confirmed the Prime Minister’s commitment to visiting Karachi for a public address, where he plans to advocate for these changes.

The K-IV project, once completed, is expected to provide an additional 260 million gallons of water to the city.
