      <title>IMF team arrives in Islamabad for federal budget 2025-26 consultations</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has arrived in Islamabad tomorrow to hold consultations on the preparation of the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This visit will begin on April 4 and is expected to continue into the following week.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to sources, the IMF team will engage in detailed discussions with Pakistani officials about tax revenue measures, reductions in government spending, and developmental expenditures.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The upcoming budget will also review cuts in expenditures and other development spending.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 is anticipated to be presented in the National Assembly during the first week of June.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The IMF had &lt;a href="https://english.aaj.tv/news/330408774/imf-acknowledges-pakistans-fiscal-policy-successes"&gt;commended&lt;/a&gt; Pakistan’s government for its fiscal policy efforts, highlighting significant achievements in reducing public debt, controlling inflation, enhancing tax equity, and maintaining price stability on March 26.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Also, last month, IMF staff &lt;a href="https://english.aaj.tv/news/330408772/imf-reaches-staff-level-deal-with-pakistan-to-unlock-13-billion-of-new-cash"&gt;reached&lt;/a&gt; a deal with Pakistan for a new $1.3 billion arrangement and also agreed on the first review of the ongoing 37-month bailout program, the IMF said on Tuesday.&lt;/p&gt;
