Mengal, in a tweet, declared, “I announce a long march from Wadh to Quetta against the arrest of our daughters and the dishonoring of our mothers and sisters. I will lead this march myself and invite all Baloch brothers and sisters, young and old, to join. This is not just about our daughters’ arrests; it is a matter of our national dignity, honour and existence. Until our women are safe, we will not remain silent.”

He further asserted that their movement is peaceful and aims to resist oppression and injustice.

“Our march is not just a physical journey; it is a journey of conscience. Silence in such times is complicity. It’s time we all unite as one voice,” he added.

Speaking on the issue during a talk show, former Balochistan chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch condemned the arrest of protesters and expressed disappointment in mainstream political leaders for not addressing Balochistan’s concerns.

He criticised election irregularities in the province, stating that electoral constituencies were “sold like peanuts.”

Dr Malik urged the government to prioritise addressing enforced disappearances, fair job allocation, and tackling corruption. He argued that a military-heavy approach would not resolve Balochistan’s crisis.

Responding to these concerns, Rana Sanaullah acknowledged the complexity of the missing persons issue, stating that in-camera meetings had been held on the subject. He insisted that a three-party dialogue involving the state, political leadership, and stakeholders was necessary to resolve the matter.
