According to officials, the driver, Rahim, followed a 24-hour work and rest cycle, leaving him exhausted and unable to control the vehicle.

In his initial statement, he claimed the accident occurred due to brake failure, but traffic authorities confirmed the tanker’s brakes were fully functional, and the real cause was overspeeding.

The accident occurred when an out-of-control water tanker crashed into a Hiace van and two motorcycles, resulting in the three fatalities.

Investigators traced the tanker’s route to Safora Hydrant, confirming its origin through a QR code on the vehicle.

Authorities also noted a lack of speed limit signboards at the accident site, which could have helped regulate vehicle speeds in the area.
