After Friday prayers, Jamaat-e-Islami held protests in multiple cities across Pakistan, with large numbers of citizens participating to register their peaceful dissent against Israel’s actions in Palestine.

In Lahore, a massive rally marched from Masjid-e-Shuhada to the US Consulate, where thousands of protesters vehemently denounced Israeli and American terrorism.

Similar protests took place in Vehari and Sadiqabad, where demonstrators demanded jihad against Israel.

In Sadiqabad, JI staged a protest outside the Press Club, where participants carried banners inscribed with slogans in support of Palestine.

In Sindh’s Mirpurkhas and Thatta, rallies were held in solidarity with Palestinians.

Protesters carried banners and held special prayers outside mosques after Friday prayers. JI’s Lower Dir chapter also staged a rally in Timergara city.

Hafiz Naeem’s address at Palestine march in Lahore

Addressing protesters outside the US Consulate in Lahore, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem declared that the Pakistani nation is outraged by Israeli terrorism.

“The Israeli atrocities of the past two days are a disgrace to humanity,” he stated.

He praised the resilience of Gazans, accusing the US of direct involvement in the genocide of Palestinians.

He alleged that former US President Donald Trump orchestrated acts of terror to forcibly evacuate Gaza.

Over 50,000 martyrs, Gaza reduced to rubble

Expressing sorrow, Hafiz Naeem said that more than 50,000 Palestinians have been martyred so far, and 90% of Gaza has been turned into ruins.

He criticised the global community, questioning why those who advocate human rights remain silent in the face of Israeli brutality.

“The world’s biggest terrorists are Israel and the US. They are committing unimaginable atrocities against Palestinians,” he said.

Despite ceasefire agreements, he added, food and water supplies to Gaza continue to be blocked, calling it a severe violation of human rights.

Silence of the Muslim world questioned

Hafiz Naeem lambasted Muslim leaders, asking why they are failing to act despite having 8.8 million troops and controlling 70% of the world’s mineral resources.

“Have Muslim nations run out of tanks and missiles?” he asked.

He condemned Muslim rulers for ignoring the cries of Palestinian women and warned that if they failed to act, Jamaat-e-Islami’s next protest would take place inside the US Embassy.

Pakistan’s role and government’s inaction

Criticising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, Hafiz Naeem urged Pakistani and Saudi leadership to issue a joint declaration against Israeli terrorism.

He questioned why Pakistan, as a nuclear power, has failed to send a strong message in support of Palestine.

“When Pakistan conducted nuclear tests, the entire Muslim world celebrated. But today, this nuclear power remains silent on Palestine,” he lamented.

Opposition’s silence

Hafiz Naeem accused Pakistani leaders of seeking US approval to maintain their rule, stating that American influence can overturn governments at will.

He warned that the entire Muslim Ummah is under siege, yet neither the government nor the opposition is taking a stand against Israeli oppression.

He called on opposition parties, including PML-N and PPP, to condemn Israel and the US unequivocally.

“The people of Pakistan are not fools. Every person who attacks Palestine is an enemy, and every Pakistani despises America’s role in this massacre,” he said.
