The meeting will focus on whether the party should function independently or join the opposition benches in the National Assembly.

Speaking to the media in Parliament on Wednesday, MQM-P leader Aminul Haque confirmed the meeting, stating, “We have called a Rabita Committee session to deliberate on whether to remain independent or formally sit with the opposition.”

Haque expressed disappointment over unfulfilled commitments made to MQM-P by the Shehbaz Sharif-led government.

“We wanted Shehbaz Sharif to become Prime Minister, but the promises made to MQM-P were not honoured. The Sindh and Hyderabad development packages, which were assured by the government, have seen no progress in the last one and a half years,” he stated.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the federal government and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Haque criticised the lack of visible development work in Karachi and Hyderabad.

He reiterated that the party’s meeting would determine whether to withdraw from the coalition and move to the opposition benches.
