Speaking at a Peshawar Zalmi sponsorship event in Lahore, where he signed an agreement as the franchise’s president, Inzamam emphasised that Peshawar Zalmi remains a favourite in PSL and aims to win the tournament this year.

He also highlighted the franchise’s commitment to social and welfare initiatives.

Inzamam took a harsh stance against PCB’s selection policies, stating that constant team changes are harming Pakistan cricket.

He stressed that the board needs to trust its management and players instead of making impulsive decisions.

“If you remove the 1990s generation of cricketers, Pakistan’s cricket will become very weak,” he stated. Babar Azam is a big player and will make a strong comeback, he added.

He also questioned the decision to rest Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, suggesting that they were actually dropped rather than rested.

He expressed full support for Babar Azam, saying that PSL presents a golden opportunity for him to regain form.
