According to sources, the PPP held a separate meeting ahead of the coalition discussions, setting conditions for continued alliance support.

The party has demanded power-sharing in Punjab to ensure smoother relations at the federal level. PPP has also warned that without an agreement, it may reconsider its support for PML-N in the center.

However, no breakthrough has been achieved on the matter so far.

To address the concerns, PML-N has formed subcommittees to fulfil previous commitments but has refused to allocate development funds to PPP.

PPP also sought administrative control in key regions, including Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rawalpindi — demands that PML-N has outright rejected.

Sources indicate that PPP’s leadership will brief Asif Ali Zardari on the latest developments. The party believes that Punjab’s government remains the biggest obstacle to an equitable power-sharing arrangement.
