Lawmakers, who previously received Rs218,000, are now getting Rs519,000 after tax deductions. This amount excludes allowances and perks.

Meanwhile, senators are still waiting for their salaries to be increased.

According to reports, the National Assembly Secretariat has begun implementing the revised salaries, with members now receiving Rs519,000 per month, including an Eid bonus.

Beyond salaries, lawmakers receive additional benefits, including a daily allowance of Rs6,800, convenience and housing allowances, and an annual travel package comprising 30 business-class air tickets and Rs300,000 in travel vouchers.

Despite the salary hike, members of the National Assembly insist they are also struggling with inflation.

Some have argued that their salaries should be aligned with those of judges and senior bureaucrats under the 1974 Act.

Senators, on the other hand, have expressed dissatisfaction over not yet receiving a similar salary adjustment.
