The former all-rounder slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board, comparing the country’s cricket condition to “a critically ill patient.”

The hosts were out of the Champions Trophy in the group stage matches after losing their two matches to India and New Zealand. Their performance was also below par in the T20 World Cup, where they lost to the USA, leading to an early exit from the tournament.

He also questioned the return of Shadab Khan to the side for the T20I series against New Zealand.

Shadab, who last participated in a T20I during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup last year, made a comeback to the team and was appointed as the vice-captain to stand-in T20I captain Salman Ali Agha.

Afridi emphasised that players who have been removed from the team would eventually return, whether to the ODI or T20 squad.

He believed that “placing the right person in the right position will resolve many of these issues.”
