She vowed to end the culture of salaries without teaching.

The Punjab government has decided to introduce the CM Education Card, rewarding students scoring above 80% with a CM Eminence/Star Card.

Additionally, each tehsil in the province will have a School of Eminence.

During a high-level meeting in Lahore, CM Maryam Nawaz was briefed on the impact of school outsourcing.

Student enrollment has increased by 52%, while the number of teachers has grown by 89%.

Following the reorganisation of 5,863 public schools, student numbers have risen from 242,000 to over 368,000.

The briefing also revealed that after the first phase of outsourcing, the number of teachers increased from 8,037 to 15,114, with salaries tripling in some cases.

Maryam Nawaz announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art lab for Matric-Tech students and directed the inclusion of technical education as a subject from class five onward.

She also set a 90-day deadline for schools to improve drinking water facilities, whitewashing, and furniture arrangements. Appreciating Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat’s decision to enroll his son in an early childhood education center, she called it a model example.

“We are introducing innovation in education with Matric-Tech,” she said, adding that her vision is to bring government school standards on par with the best private institutions.
