Former Jamaat-e-Islami senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan’s brother, Shakil Ahmad Khan, was shot dead in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swabi in the wee hours of Sunday, police said.

He was suspected of being killed by his neighbour.

The accused first murdered his father and while Shakil Ahmad Khan was attempting to intervene, he became the target of gunfire, police claimed. They claimed that the suspect was a “drug addict and mentally unstable.”

The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Kalu Khan Police Station in Swabi, and the police investigation was under way.

Individuals from various sectors have expressed their sorrow and condolences.
