In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the khwarij. They “remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians,” it said.

“Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the statement said.

Last month, all 16 terrorists, including four suicide bombers, were killed while attempting to breach the security of Bannu Cantonment.
