According to details, customs officials intercepted a consignment being smuggled under the guise of car coolant.

The contraband included high-value mobile phones and liquid tobacco flavours, which were confiscated during the operation.

The company involved, A.B. Memon & Sons, allegedly attempted to smuggle the prohibited goods under false declarations.

A customs spokesperson revealed that mobile phones and liquid tobacco flavours were concealed inside car coolant containers.

The smuggled items were being transported via a truck to the importer’s warehouse when officials intervened.

Authorities confirmed that the operation led to the seizure of 10,008 mobile phones worth over Rs302.4 million. Additionally, 15,000 liquid tobacco flavours, valued at Rs30 million, were recovered.

The seized goods have been confiscated under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act.

Officials further stated that legal proceedings have been initiated against the importer, A.B. Memon & Sons.
