According to Haji Imdad, President of the Trade Union, a total of 113 small and large vehicles carrying essential goods arrived after a 15-day halt.

Additionally, over 100 trucks delivered supplies to Lower Kurram and surrounding areas.

However, he stressed that at least 1,000 trucks are urgently needed to support the 500,000 residents stranded for five months.

Social activist Mir Afzal Khan highlighted the ongoing shortage of gas and fuel, urging authorities to reopen all routes and restore supply chains without delay.

Meanwhile, a convoy of 225 trucks carrying essential supplies has successfully reached Parachinar. The movement of goods had been halted since February 17, following an attack on a convoy in Lower Kurram.

Traders lamented that since the February 17 incident, no supplies have reached Upper Kurram, leading to empty markets and severe shortages. Many residents are surviving on minimal food resources.

Business owners also expressed concerns over the financial burden of vehicles stuck in Tall and Hangu for months, incurring substantial costs.

The ongoing protest outside the Parachinar Press Club has now entered its third day, with a significant number of residents participating. Organisers have vowed to continue their sit-in until their demands are met.

Educational institutions in Upper Kurram remain closed due to road blockages and fuel shortages. Despite the end of the two-month winter break, both public and private schools have yet to reopen.

Teacher unions stated that a lack of fuel and stationery supplies has made commuting and operations impossible.

The Kurram Teachers’ Welfare Association declared that schools will remain shut until the fuel shortages are resolved.
