To ensure a well-structured distribution of responsibilities, he has met several ministers individually, including Mussadiq Malik, Awais Leghari, Talal Chaudhry, and Abdul Rehman Kanjo.

During these meetings, the prime minister briefed ministers on their expected roles.

He also hinted at reshuffling portfolios for some senior ministers.

Sources indicate that federal ministers will not be allowed to hold multiple portfolios, and Ministers of State will be appointed alongside key ministers.

Major cabinet reshuffle expected

The PM is keen to replace ministers in key sectors, including petroleum, energy, and food security.

Changes are also likely in the privatisation, investment, climate change, and establishment ministries.

Discussions are underway to assign Tariq Shah a senior bureaucratic role in place of Ahsan Cheema, with the latter possibly being moved to the Economic Affairs Division.

Concerns over Pervez Khattak’s inclusion

The prime minister is reportedly displeased with the induction of Pervez Khattak into the cabinet.

To address party concerns, he met Ikhtiar Wali, who voiced strong reservations over Khattak’s inclusion.

PM Shehbaz assured Wali of his support and advised him to stay in Islamabad for further discussions.

It is worth noting that PML-N’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leadership has serious concerns over Pervez Khattak’s role, which they conveyed to the PM.

PM Shehbaz meets Amir Muqam

In a one-on-one meeting, Federal Minister Amir Muqam discussed the political landscape in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He congratulated PM Shehbaz on his government’s performance over the past year and extended an invitation to visit KP.
