Speaking at a press conference at Governor House Karachi, Tessori stated that if he had the authority, he would have ensured no one fell victim to heavy traffic accidents.

He promised financial assistance to families who lost their loved ones in dumper, trailer and truck accidents in the past two months.

Acknowledging that no compensation can replace a life, he said financial aid could help ease the pain.

The governor revealed that he had written to chief minister Sindh, urging the formation of a commission to investigate heavy traffic accidents, but received no response.

While he can write letters, seek answers, and monitor the situation, he said there’s little else he can do.

However, he warned that if DIG Traffic failed to take action, he would be forced to intervene.

Anti-drug campaign and student testing

Governor Tessori announced the establishment of a complaint cell at Governor House to address the province’s growing drug problem. Citing the Mustafa Amir murder case, he called it a crucial moment to eradicate drugs.

He urged parents to monitor their children and educate them about drug dangers. Letters will be sent to schools and colleges requesting drug testing for students and teachers.

Plot allotment for homeless

Tessori also announced a lottery-based plot allocation for homeless individuals.

As part of the “Ittihad Ramazan Programme,” Governor House will open its doors to the public, where one million people are expected to break their fast.

He invited citizens, including minorities, to register for participation. The programme will include Iftar, dinner, Taraweeh prayers, Na’at recitations, and Qawwali sessions.

Security measures

Tessori stated that he would write to the Interior Minister and Home Secretary, demanding restrictions on individuals traveling with unregistered security guards.

He clarified that no government funds were being used for his welfare projects; instead, they are being financed through private donations and support from friends.
