      <title>Banks to remain closed on Monday</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Banks in Pakistan will remain closed on Monday, March 3, for public dealing, according to a notification from the central bank.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The circular said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will be closed for public dealing on March 3 and that this closure is in observance of a “Bank Holiday for Zakat deduction.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“All banks / DFIs / MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the aforementioned date,” the SBP said in the circular issued on the website.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“However, all employees of the banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend the office on Bank Holiday treating it as a normal working day (except for public dealing).”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Federal Ministry of Poverty Alleviation &lt;a href="https://english.aaj.tv/news/330404938/how-much-zakat-will-be-deducted-from-your-amount-in-bank"&gt;announced&lt;/a&gt; on Tuesday Nisab-i-Zakat for 2025, saying that Zakat would be applicable on an amount of Rs179,689 this year.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad &lt;a href="https://english.aaj.tv/news/330405017/moon-not-sighted-in-pakistan-first-ramazan-to-be-observed-on-sunday"&gt;announced&lt;/a&gt; that the Ramadan moon was not sighted in Pakistan, and the first Ramadan will be observed on Sunday.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Also, the Ramadan moon was &lt;a href="https://english.aaj.tv/news/330405209/ramazan-moon-sighted-in-saudi-arabia-uae-australia-and-indonesia"&gt;sighted&lt;/a&gt; in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Australia and Indonesia, while Brunei and Malaysia did not witness the moon on Friday.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is a time dedicated to fasting, prayer, and charitable acts. Healthy adult Muslims are required to abstain from food and drink from dawn until sunset.&lt;/p&gt;
