This service will connect every rural tehsil to the district headquarters, facilitating easier travel for women in these areas.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has requested the creation of an “Inter-Village Transport Plan” and has “directed officials to review a phased proposal for a mass transit system consisting of 25 buses.”

During the announcement, CM Nawaz stressed that ensuring transportation for women in villages is their right, highlighting the pressing need for adequate transport options.

She described the current lack of facilities as a significant concern.

“It is painful to see rural women travelling in uncomfortable conditions. A proper transport system will boost their confidence and facilitate students and female patients,” she said.

She inaugurated Punjab’s first electric bus project in Lahore on February 19.
