Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved key appointments, with an Additional Inspector General (AIG) set to lead the department.

The CCD will have a workforce of 4,258 officers and personnel, including three DIGs, SPs and SSPs at divisional headquarters, and DSPs at the district level.

The department will utilise state-of-the-art technology to tackle seven categories of organized crime, ensuring swift action.

The CCD will deploy surveillance drones capable of reaching crime scenes within five minutes. It will also manage a centralised database for crime and criminal records across Punjab.

CM Maryam Nawaz has instructed immediate legislative measures for the department’s operations and approved resources, including buildings, vehicles, and modern equipment.

She emphasised that the CCD will significantly reduce crime rates and ensure Punjab is equipped with the best technology for law enforcement.
