Speaking at the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to international human rights.

“In the past decade, Pakistan has enacted over seven human rights-related laws, reflecting our dedication to global human rights principles,” he stated.

He highlighted the significance of Pakistan’s 26th Constitutional Amendment, which recognizes a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment as a fundamental right. This, he said, marks a milestone in the country’s human rights framework.

Strongly condemning Israeli actions in Gaza, Tarar stressed that forced expulsions and demographic changes violate core principles of international law.

“The world must act decisively to protect the rights of Palestinians and Kashmiris,” he urged.

Expressing deep concern over grave human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir, he called on the international community to hold India accountable.

“A UN inquiry commission must be established to investigate these violations,” he emphasised.

Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating torture and other human rights abuses, urging global leaders to uphold justice and protect vulnerable populations.
