He also claimed that PTI founder Imran Khan is disheartened by Pakistan’s elimination from the Champions Trophy.

Speaking to the media after meeting Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, Raja said that the delay in their meeting had no particular reason, dismissing speculations surrounding the matter.

He alleged that the prison system is controlled by forces unrelated to jail administration.

He also revealed that Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, has been denied visitation rights and that in six months, Khan’s children have spoken to him only four times.

Raja announced that, on Imran Khan’s instructions, he would write a letter to the chief justice, highlighting these issues.

He further stated that Khan has been briefed about PTI’s upcoming campaign in Sindh, asserting that the province is eagerly awaiting the party’s arrival.

He vowed that PTI would fight for Sindh’s rights and ensure that not a drop of its water is taken away.

Salman Akram Raja also clarified why Sher Afzal Marwat was removed from the party, stating that those expelled had been dismissed for valid reasons.

He emphasised that PTI stands with the oppressed and that the party would continue its struggle under Khan’s leadership, particularly in Punjab, where incidents of authoritarianism are increasing.

Regarding party leadership, Raja said that Imran Khan has expressed confidence in Junaid Akbar’s presidency and instructed all those holding multiple party positions to relinquish their additional roles.

He criticised those who remained in PTI but spoke against it, reiterating that individuals removed from the party had solid grounds for dismissal.

Pakistan’s Champions Trophy exit

According to Raja, Imran Khan is deeply saddened by Pakistan’s failure to qualify for the Champions Trophy.

He added that cricket is a technical game and should be governed by merit, not favouritism.

He criticised those who treat public sentiment as a joke, stating that it is an insult to the people’s passion for the sport.

PTI’s unity and future plans

Raja assured that PTI remains united and fully prepared to contest the Pakistan Bar Council and Supreme Court Bar elections.

He dismissed claims of internal divisions, asserting that the party is neither a faction nor a splinter group but a national political force committed to institutional engagement.

Discussing disciplinary actions, Raja stated that those who voted against party directives would face consequences, with case-by-case decisions being made.

He reiterated that whether it’s Sher Afzal Marwat or anyone else, Imran Khan stands firmly with PTI’s leadership and will not reverse previous decisions.

He reaffirmed that anyone guilty of misconduct or violence has no place in the party, but those who were unreachable at the time of crucial decisions would be given a chance to explain themselves.
