Musadik Malik: PTI wants to launch campaign against state institutions again

Federal Minister Dr Musadik Malik has criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming that the party is once again attempting to run a campaign against state institutions.

Speaking on Aaj TV’s programme “Rubaru” with host Shaukat Paracha, he asserted that PTI’s recent letters were not just against the PML-N but against Pakistan itself.

Malik further stated that PTI’s attempt to stage a protest in the UK had failed miserably, emphasising that the respect of national leaders enhances the country’s global standing.

He urged PTI to apologise for its past remarks regarding the army chief and stressed the need for political dialogue and the creation of smaller provinces for better governance.

PTI’s Aamir Dogar

PTI’s Chief Whip Aamir Dogar remarked that London has historically been a focal point of Pakistani politics.

He alleged that the so-called regime change 22 months ago was orchestrated under a London Plan, pointing out that the “Charter of Democracy” between the two major parties was also signed in the UK.

Dogar took a direct swipe at Nawaz Sharif, stating that the PML-N supremo has a history of fleeing to London whenever faced with adversity.

Lashing out at the ruling coalition, Dogar questioned why the army chief was being forcibly dragged into political affairs.

He noted that every army chief in Pakistan has faced hostility from political opponents, adding that PTI is now the primary victim, just as other parties were in the past.

Dogar expressed hope that Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi would restore the judiciary’s credibility and ensure justice for PTI.

He also criticised what he described as “pre-written judgements” in courts.

Speaking about the long-standing demand for a South Punjab province, Dogar argued that many countries around the world are smaller than Punjab itself.

He insisted that an independent province comprising 11 districts of Punjab could be a game-changer for governance and regional development.

PPP’s Nadeem Afzal Chan

Senior PPP leader Nadeem Afzal Chan weighed in on PTI’s recent correspondence, stating that there should be a national debate on these letters, both politically and institutionally.

However, he suggested that it would have been more effective if Imran Khan had addressed them to political parties instead.

Chan supported the idea of a South Punjab province, pointing out that while Pakistan’s elite gets their issues resolved swiftly, the common man continues to struggle.

He called for serious political negotiations among all parties to strengthen democracy.
