Opposition parties have decided to expand their anti-government alliance, with key meetings and consultations currently underway.

The opposition leadership is set to take its movement to Sindh, where leaders of Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aeen Pakistan will embark on a three-day visit today.

During the visit, crucial meetings have been scheduled to strengthen the Grand Opposition Alliance.

The opposition delegation will meet leaders of the Grand Democratic Alliance and hold talks with Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz chief Ayaz Latif Palijo in Hyderabad.

Secretary-General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Salman Akram Raja, will also be present.

The visit includes meetings with Sindh’s business community, bar associations, and PTI Karachi officials.

In addition, the opposition leaders will engage with the journalist community, signalling an effort to expand their narrative and build broader support.

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s spokesperson, Aslam Ghauri, dismissed reports suggesting divisions within the alliance over JUI-F’s inclusion.

He said that certain factions were uneasy with the party’s role and were spreading baseless news.
He insisted that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was already playing a pivotal role in the alliance despite not holding a formal leadership position, adding that his presence further strengthened the opposition.

Ghauri stressed that the grand alliance was steadily taking shape and that statements against it were bringing opposition parties closer.

He also claimed that following Fazlur Rehman’s recent speech in parliament, a defamation campaign had been launched against him.

He asserted that the public was well aware of the forces behind these orchestrated attacks.
