While presiding over the Senate Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs, Faisal Vawda exposed a massive land allocation scandal.

He stated that Karachi Port’s 500-acre land has a market value exceeding Rs60 billion, yet it was significantly undervalued in recent deals.

He called for an immediate halt to all land allocations at the port and assured that future transactions would be made transparent.

He further emphasised that all allocations would now be conducted in consultation with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

Speaking to the media, Senator Faisal Vawda stated that Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has prioritised Pakistan’s interests above all else.

He remarked that land worth Rs80-100 million per acre was being handed over for just Rs1 million per acre — on credit — under questionable dealings that had been ongoing for four to five years.

He asserted that his intervention had saved the nation Rs60-70 billion, reaffirming his commitment to Pakistan’s welfare.

He also announced that all land transactions at Karachi Port have been halted, with no further dealings permitted.

He also ordered the freezing of 6,000 square yards of valuable coastal land.

Vawda’s revelations have sparked concerns about transparency and accountability in state asset management, raising calls for immediate reforms.
