A statement was issued following a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Justice Afridi, confirming that the discussion was part of the judicial reforms agenda.

According to the Supreme Court’s statement, the Judicial Policy Committee had already shared an agenda seeking feedback before the meeting.

Justice Afridi reiterated his commitment to making judicial reforms a collaborative effort by engaging all stakeholders.

During the meeting at the Chief Justice’s residence, PM Shehbaz requested expedited decisions on long-pending tax cases to support economic stability.

The meeting was attended by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, and senior legal officials.

The PM congratulated Justice Afridi on assuming office and appreciated his efforts to improve access to justice, particularly in underprivileged regions.

Justice Afridi, in response, welcomed the PM’s input and sought further recommendations for enhancing the judicial system. Shehbaz Sharif also pledged to accelerate efforts on missing persons’ cases.
