This statement comes a day after the White House clarified that Musk does not have formal authority to make government decisions.

In a joint interview with Fox News, Musk, who co-chairs the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), emphasized his role in assisting Trump with technology-related needs.

He pointed out that one of the key responsibilities of the DOGE team is to guarantee that presidential orders are executed properly.

Addressing concerns about his influence as an unelected advisor, Musk argued that the bureaucracy should not hinder the president from fulfilling the will of the people.

He remarked, “If the bureaucracy is fighting against the elected representative, then we are living in a bureaucracy, not a democracy.”

While Musk’s role has raised eyebrows, the White House confirmed that he is classified as a “non-career Special Government Employee” and does not possess official decision-making power.

Musk reassured those worried about his position, stating he has never sought favors from Trump and intends to recuse himself from any political decisions involving his companies and government contracts.
