Christopher Nolan’s version of The Odyssey will hit theatres on July 17, 2026.

This movie was announced in 2024.

In the official post shared by the film’s X account, Damon is seen in full costume, ready to take on the role of the legendary Greek hero.

The Odyssey is an adaptation of Homer’s celebrated 8th-century BCE poem, which is one of the foundational texts of Western literature. The plot revolves around King of Ithaca, Odysseus, on his dangerous 10-year quest to return home after the Trojan War.

The king is confronted with numerous formidable challenges, including the “Cyclops Polyphemus, the sorceress Circe, the lethal Sirens, and the furious sea God Poseidon.”
