Amir, a Karachi resident, went missing on January 6, according to the police. His charred body was found in a car in Balochistan, they told reporters in a press conference on Friday.

Police added that they got to know about the death after a suspect made a shocking confession to them during the investigation.

As the story unfolds, investigators said on Saturday that the conflict leading to the missing person’s death arose from a dispute involving a girl.

When the police sought remand of the suspect in the hearing, the court asked the accused if he had been beaten. Shiraz stated that he “had not been harmed” by the police.

The court inquired about the charges of abduction and murder against him. The accused said that Mustafa Amir had come to Armaghan’s house in the defence area, where they got into a fight, leading to an altercation. After the altercation, he added that they assaulted Amir and took him to Hub in his car.

The court sought a progress report from police on the case for the next hearing.

Meanwhile, the mother of the deceased filed a petition requesting permission for the exhumation of her son’s body. The court responded that she should approach the relevant judicial magistrate’s court, as the magistrate holds the authority to order exhumation and other related matters.

He shouted, “Go tell the judge I have come to meet him; my son Armaghan’s case is ongoing, and I will speak to the judge. Who are you to stop me? I am an American citizen.”

In the commotion, Kamran Qureshi pushed police constable Rizwan. The disruption prompted authorities to call in additional police and Rangers personnel for security.

The prosecutor general of Sindh stated that they have approached the Sindh High Court for a remand.
