Speaking on Aaj News’ programme Insight with Amir Zia, Qaiser emphasised that PTI must act within the legal and constitutional framework.

Addressing the ongoing political situation, Qaiser asserted that the current government is a “dummy administration” with neither authority nor legitimacy, and PTI has every right to express its reservations.

He maintained that former Prime Minister Imran Khan wrote his letter as a patriotic Pakistani, highlighting his concerns about the country’s direction.

Regarding Sher Afzal Marwat’s conduct, Qaiser suggested he should exercise caution, hinting that a review of his expulsion was possible.

On Marwat’s controversial rally in Swabi, Qaiser said he was preoccupied and unaware of the complete details.

Discussing opposition alliances, Qaiser claimed PTI is close to forming an opposition coalition and consultations are underway.

He stressed the need for all political parties outside the government — along with media, civil society, and stakeholders — to come together and create a national agenda to address the country’s crisis.

Govt’s response

During the same programme, Prime Minister’s spokesperson Ikhtiyar Wali Khan dismissed concerns over PTI’s actions, asserting that the government is unbothered.

He criticised PTI’s political manoeuvres, referring to past claims about “umpire’s fingers” and electoral fraud as mere distractions.

Khan accused Imran Khan of making doomsday predictions about Pakistan’s economy after his removal from power, alleging that PML-N’s leadership had successfully steered the country away from collapse.

He further claimed that many within PTI are disillusioned with Imran Khan and may shift their support to the government.

He concluded by citing a recent survey indicating growing dissatisfaction with PTI’s leadership, reinforcing his belief that Imran Khan’s influence is waning.
